For enthusiasts there is the annual Craft and Farm Produce Exhibition
in July-August, not to be missed, including pieces of art and
manufactured items by local artisans. It offers tourists a wide
variety of objects, with baskets, carved wood, gold products,
rugs, woven goods and ceramics. Moreover, there is the food and
drink show, where one can taste a number of traditional dishes.
All of this is garnished with dancing, singing, music and themed
entertainment. Both events take place at the former prison governor’s
villa.
- At the penal colony it is possible to visit the photographic
exhibition of the 1920s and 30s. This examines the life, habits
and rigid prison system of the time, in relation to the convicts,
prison guards and family members.
- Every year there is also an exhibition of Sardinian painting.
The considerable quality of the canvasses, which manage to depict
different aspects of life on the island, is testament to the skill
of their authors.
