| With the arrival of
the penal colony in the territory of Castiadas, right from the
beginning of the C19th,wines of excellent quality were produced:
the Cannonau, Monica and Vermentino vineyards reached over 100
hectares in extension and the production increased from year to
year, to such an extent that a cellar in the Camisa district was
also able to be built.
Castiadas has maintained the same quality of product, or rather
it has improved it, with the introduction of new varieties, and
has increased the production.
All the wines included below are produced and distributed by the
wine growers’ association of Castiadas, started in 1959,
which today, to satisfy demand, is available on national and international
markets with excellent results, fruit of the work and professionality
of all the growers in the Castiadas area, who supply the consortium
with premium quality grapes.
The association today is self-sufficient, equipped with a bottling
machine, which has produced a qualitative improvement with high-calibre
wines appreciated by consumers, connoisseurs and independent contractors.
Furthermore, it is possible to buy excellent quality wines, from
various local growers, who with great expertise manage to maintain
an age-old tradition.
