| EXCURSION
TO STAULI MANNU
Having reached Castiadas, after the visit to the villa of the
ex prison governor with its magnificent garden and the grandeur
of the main complex, we continue along a mud track, arriving finally
at the forest of Bacu sa Figu.
Here, venturing along a road shaded by thick vegetation, which
runs along an old acqueduct built by the convicts, we reach a
glade where a spring and outhouse of the ex penal colony are found.
At daybreak in Stauli Minni, if the numbers are not too great
and strict silence is observed, it is not uncommon to catch sight
of one or two Sardinian deer, find traces this ungulate and in
Autumn to hear the male bellow.

The excursion includes:
1) Transfer in 4-by-4
2) Visit to the state forest of Castiadas (of Stauli Mannu);
3) Tasting of typical Sardinian products (Sardinian sausage, “casereccio”
bread, cheese and wine).
